Dan Reynolds
Noble Works has always loved Dan Reynolds' cartoons, and they were perfect for our quirky greeting cards. From the Xmas Scream, a hilarious Christmas card that parodies Munch's
famous Scream painting stepping on a scale during the holidays, to his hilarious birthday card, Spirit of Birthday Presents, there is something in the Reynold's line for everyone.
Reynolds didn't start cartooning until he was almost 30 years old.
"In fact, I did even know how to draw until then. One day, I picked up a pencil, and I’ve been drawing ever since. And, boy, is my hand tired!" says Reynolds.
Reynolds is left-handed, which means he's always in his right mind. Ok, that's debatable. The name of his cartoons are “Reynolds Unwrapped.”
He found out he had testicular cancer in 2008, and battled it for two years. He is currently in remission.
"I had the same type of cancer as Lance Armstrong. He went on, after his bout with testicular cancer to win another Tour De France. I have no plan to win a Tour De France myself. Well, that is, unless Lance Armstrong decides to start drawing cartoons. Then, he'd better watch out! To be honest, I was very worried that all the chemotherapy would affect my ability to write. As it turns out, my writing wasn’t affected at all. It was the same before as after the drugs. Kind of makes you wonder, huh? I used humor to fight the tumor because laughter is the best medicine," he says.
His studio is located in New York State and he has worked with greeting cards since the early '90s.
When asked to describe his style in one sentence, he said, "Fun, quirky, off –beat, and thinking outside the box."
